The Program is offered by MEFA and the Massachusetts State Treasurer’s Office and provides for a $50.00 contribution to an individual U.Fund account opened on or after January 1, 2020. To participate in the Program, (i) a Designated Beneficiary of a U.Fund account must be born or adopted in Massachusetts on or after January 1, 2020, (ii) a Designated Beneficiary of a U.Fund account must be a Massachusetts resident at the time of the U.Fund account opening, (iii) the U.Fund account must be opened within 365 calendar days of the Designated Beneficiary’s date of birth or date of adoption, and (iv) the U.Fund account must be an individual registration account. If you participate in the Program, you consent to allow MEFA to share your U.Fund account information with the Massachusetts State Treasurer’s Office at the time of the account opening and on a periodic basis thereafter.
